Brian Rank, M.D. serves as medical director for HealthPartners Medical Group. He is also a member of the Hematology/Oncology Section and maintains an active Hematology/Oncology practice.

Rank joined HealthPartners in 1995 as director of Medical Education and Internal Medicine Specialties. In 1996, he was named the Associate Medical Director for Medical Specialties and served in that position until September of 1998 when he was named the Medical Director for the HealthPartners Medical Group. 

Prior to joining HealthPartners, Rank served 10 years at Hennepin County Medical Center in several hospital and clinic appointments, including attending physician in the Department of Medicine; consultant in the Division of Hematology/Oncology; program director for the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program and director of the Division of Hematology/Oncology.

Rank currently serves on the HealthPartners, Regions Hospital and HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education boards of directors. In addition, he is the HealthPartners Research Foundation president and has served as the chair of Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI). He also formerly served as the chair of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Hennepin County Medical Center and as the program director of the Internal Medicine Residency.
