Cancer Education - Sub-Saharan African Youth & Family Services in Minnesota (SAYFSM)
Cancer education services offered
by this organization include understanding cancer, cancer prevention, risk reduction as
well as cervical and breast cancer education. This information is offered to encourage
cancer screening.
Objectives
- Reduce disparities in screening
for breast, colorectal, and cervical cancer.
- Improve the quantity of
information and support available to cancer patients and providers.
SAYFSM is dedicated to
increasing cancer awareness among African immigrants and refugees by:
- Incorporating
cancer information into its existing outreach program,
- Displaying cancer-related
information, and
- Hosting informational meetings.
