Cancer Survivorship Clinic - Mayo Clinic

The Survivorship Clinic’s objective is to provide a “prescription for long-term, improved health care” for patients with cancer.  Its vision is to utilize the resources and expertise within Mayo Clinic to assure that the needs of the patients who survive cancer are fully addressed.

The Clinic is based in the Division of Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic Rochester and utilizes a team approach to address survivorship-related issues such as:

  • Bone health
  • Lymphedema
  • Nutrition
  • Spirituality
  • Emotional concerns

Mayo Clinic Cancer Center offers a clinical service to survivors of cancer.  Designed for patients who have completed their cancer treatment, the Cancer Survivorship Clinic pilot project began offering services in October, 2006 to patients diagnosed with ovarian or esophageal cancer.  Patients can be referred to the clinic by their physician.

The Clinic’s long-term goal is to provide this type of clinical services to patients with all cancer diagnoses.
