AGENDA

  • Follow-up Reports

    1. Follow-up on Meeting at BHCAG (Ann and Matt) –

Highlights of meeting on November 26, 2007 -  Ann presented a report on the Bridges to Excellence Program. Documentation of tobacco status is one of the criteria in the Optimal Diabetes Care clinical measurements.  It was recommended that our project team meet with the MN Community Measurement’s CEO, Jim Chase, to discuss baseline data that are collected and the potential for expansion of tobacco data collection. In order to more accurately assess the current level of cessation benefits provided by Minnesota employers, BCHAG offered to conduct a brief survey of self-insured employers throughout the state to assess tobacco cessation benefit status.

There is a possibility that a BHCAG February community meeting will focus on tobacco and a member(s) of our team may have an opportunity to present data on the current status of cessation coverage in Minnesota and the ROI associated with comprehensive coverage.

    1. Review ROI data - ACS, BCBSMN, Mayo - Darla presented preliminary productivity ROI data from BCBSMN and Michael presented health care cost ROI data from Mayo.

    1. Feasibility of recognition awards – possibly coordinate with ACS (Angie)

                        Tabled – Angie not present

Other discussion topics-

·         Team members discussed adding a team member with marketing expertise to add valuable perspective, especially as we proceed with development of a presentation for employers.

·         Team members discussed the need for definitive standard of care guidelines for providers and possible mechanisms to measure compliance with the guidelines that are provider/clinic specific.
