1.       Welcome/Introductions.

2.       Three Rives Project:  The screening event will take place on 4/10/08 at the Public Health building in downtown St. Paul (555 Cedar Ave) from 8:30 to 11:30.  Team members signed up to volunteer for various roles.  Participants will receive 15 minute 1:1 education, a cervical cancer screening, breakfast, and an incentive.  There are 20 appointment slots, and women need to schedule in advance.  Contact Makeisha if you would like to volunteer or could hang posters in the St. Paul area.

3.       Cancer Summit 2008: Liz described a round table activity focused on community outreach involving 6-8 of the key projects being implemented under the Health Disparities Task Force.  Table hosts will work with participants to determine barriers to outreach or possibilities for collaboration.  The group discussed how conference participants would select tables, and whether the table hosts would need some guidance.  Liz gathered feedback and will update the team again at the March meeting.

4.       Evaluation: This topic was tabled until March.

5.       Work Plan 2008

a.       Tool Kit Cards: Printed cards were given out to those present.  Katie and Dai planned to use them at an outreach event the next day.  The team discussed ways to get feedback from community health workers and those using the cards, prior to another round of printing.  Five or six key questions were discussed.  Makeisha will consult with Lisa.  The cost was about $30 for 100 cards.  There may be a way to share them with the CHW Peer Network for additional feedback.

b.       Spanish Toolkits: These are still being revised by Gay Lynn and Emily.  They should cost about $10 each to reproduce.  Recent discussions have indicated 20 kits would be a good amount to start with.

c.       Speakers:  Tim Nies gave descriptions of 2 potential speakers the team is considering.

                                                               i.      Christine Baze – As a cervical cancer survivor and patient advocate, she is available to give "Her story" about the disease and the impact it had on her life.  She is also a musician, so her presentation has an entertainment value.  GSK can bring her to Minnesota for an event.  Relay for Life at the University could be a possibility.

ii.      Don Nickels – A Glaxo Smith Klein Regional Medical Scientist prepared to speak about the disease burden and health economics of cervical cancer.   Liz Moe will check to see about outside interest for such a presentation.

d.       Immunization Action Coalition – This group is developing a cervical cancer tool kit. Dr. Deborah Wexler and Diane Peterson, former Immunization Program Manager with MDH, are involved.  This possibility will be revisited in March.

e.       Review of printed materials:  At the January meeting, the team established June as the month to revisit printed material for accuracy and relevance.  The flip chart and companion guide will not need review until June ’09.

6.       Next Meeting:  March 25, 2008, 10:00 to 12:00.  Snelling Office Park

      Agenda Items:

Update on hearing from the Immunization Action Coalition and Don Nickels

      Update on the Cancer Summit
