Notes: Entering the obvious resources, and putting others aside into – not a resource and maybe a resource categories. Angie and Jane will send a draft of the resource criteria in the next week or so – for group review. The criteria are very helpful as Angie goes through the submissions on the Web site. Right now, it is manageable. Still getting about 10 new submissions per week. Angie will let team know if there is a problem completing this project by Aug. 20th.
Discussed how to email people back about their suggestions. Nice to have an Alliance mail box for this type of communication – coming from the site admin rather that an individual’s email address. Angie will ask Josh about this and what options may be. Otherwise an email will go out to all the submissions after Angie is done updating. We’ll do a general email and provide a link to the criteria and the site so people can check on their own. Karin will draft a short email for this. Target middle of August for sending out a response to people. Not sure who will send it if there is no “admin” type email address.
- Resource policy statement – progress report – Angie and Jane drafted one and will revise and send to group for comments in next week or so.
- Search interface
- Follow up: make it easier to combine zip and topic – not clear enough in my opinion
Notes: Group agreed that the search by key word is confusing. It was noted that based on demo’s and feedback users want to combine their zip plus a key word or topic. This is not supported technically at this time. Also, the search for key word returns a link to NCI – which doesn’t make sense. We still have user concerns over key word search.
Group asked that Josh remove the top “gray shaded” key word search area on the page. Then, it will simply start with the intro text and then the zip search. Please use the “search” button instead of the “submit” button on the zip search section. Jody made some wording modifications. Angie will implement those edits. Angie will meet with Josh to discuss modifications. We’d like changes made before our next meeting on August 16th.
We’d like to revisit the key word search in the Sept meeting. Don’t want to lose it, but it will need some changes in order to work better for users.
- Information formatting – update, timing, etc.
Notes: Still see some typos. Karin will go thru but everyone is asked to go thru and make changes and edits (if you use admin tools). Goal is to clean what is there and then revisit the overall formatting in the near future. We removed sites that we don’t want to promote per discussion from last meeting.
- Communications update
- Mailing – ready to go: about 500 kits, 1000 postcards and an additional 1500 postcards via labels from Stratis. Slated for approx. 8/26.
- State Fair- will give U of MN cancer center about 400 magnets for a single day promotion at the fair.
- Other – Table top signs are done and ready for use at exhibits. There are three for the Alliance’s use.; Angie will meet with Teresa Schuletis to discuss pharma communications later this week.
