Patricia Swanson, R.N., is the founder, president, and administrator of Kittson County Hospice.  She has served as a hospice nurse for over 22 years. Located in Northwest Minnesota, Kittson County Hospice is the only licensed volunteer-operated hospice in the state.

Patricia served as board chair for the former Minnesota Division of the American Cancer Society, and as president of the Minnesota Cancer Council, which was instrumental in establishing the Minnesota Cancer Surveillance System. She was a charter member of the steering committee for the development of Cancer Plan Minnesota, and continues as an active member of the MN Cancer Alliance, including a member of the Access to Information Task Force. In addition, Swanson is a member of the American Cancer Society national board of directors.
